At Suds Up Carpet Cleaning, we want your cleaning experience to be smooth, easy, and stress free. This guide explains what to expect before we arrive, during the cleaning process, and after your cleaning is complete.

If you’ve scheduled carpet, tile and grout, or upholstery cleaning with Suds Up Carpet Cleaning, you may be wondering how to prepare your home and what to expect after the cleaning is complete.
The guide below covers helpful tips about preparing for your appointment, drying time, and simple after-care steps to help your floors and furniture look their best.

Before Your Cleaning Appointment
There are a few simple things that help us deliver the best results possible.
Please have the air conditioning on when we arrive.
Florida humidity can slow drying time. Running the AC helps remove moisture from the air and allows your carpet to dry faster after cleaning.
Other helpful preparation tips:
• Vacuum high traffic areas if possible
• Move fragile items from cleaning areas
• Lift drapes or furniture skirts off the floor
• Provide clear access to the areas being cleaned
• Secure pets during the cleaning
These small steps help us get started quickly and deliver the best results.
What Happens When We Arrive
When we arrive we will walk through the areas with you to evaluate the carpet, tile or upholstery.
During this inspection we look for:
• heavy traffic areas
• stains or spots
• pet urine issues
• carpet wear patterns
• grout discoloration
• upholstery fabric types
It is important to understand that we can only see what is visible on the surface. If you recently moved into a home and do not know the history of the carpet, there is always a possibility that spills or pet urine exist below the surface.
If we suspect pet urine we may use a UV inspection light to help locate those areas.
Our Professional Cleaning Process

We use professional equipment designed to remove deep soil from carpet fibers, tile grout lines and upholstery fabrics.
Typical carpet cleaning steps include:
• inspection
• pre-treatment of traffic areas
• agitation to loosen soil
• hot water extraction cleaning
• grooming to improve appearance
Our equipment is powerful and efficient.
For example:
• Cleaning three average bedrooms may take around 45-60 minutes
• Adding a flight of stairs may bring the time closer to about 1 hour and 15 minutes
Tile and grout cleaning can move quickly with the right equipment. In many cases we can clean around 1000 square feet of tile in about an hour, but preparation, pre-treatment and post-cleaning steps often make the appointment 2-3 hours total.
What Determines the Price of Your Cleaning
Several factors determine the price of carpet, tile and grout, or upholstery cleaning.
These include:
• size of the area
• condition of the carpet or flooring
• heavy traffic areas
• stain or spot treatment
• stairs
• upholstery fabric type
• pet urine treatment
Pet urine situations often require specialized pet urine and odor remover and sometimes a flushing process to remove contamination from the padding below the carpet.

When Can Furniture Be Moved Back?
We recommend waiting 24 hours before placing furniture back onto freshly cleaned carpet.
This allows the carpet to dry completely and prevents furniture legs from trapping moisture in the carpet fibers.
How Long Before Walking On Sealed Tile?
How Long Before Walking On Sealed Tile?
If your tile and grout was sealed:
• avoid walking on the floor for about 3 hours
• avoid mopping or getting the floor wet for 24 hours
This allows the sealer time to properly cure and bond to the grout.
Why Spots Sometimes Reappear (Wick Back)
Why Spots Sometimes Reappear (Wick Back)
Occasionally a stain may reappear after cleaning. This is called wick back.
Wick back happens when a spill or stain has soaked deep into the carpet backing or padding. As the carpet dries, the stain can rise back to the surface.
This is not a carpet cleaner mistake and can occur when stains have been present for a long time or when the history of the carpet is unknown.
If this happens simply reach out to us and we will be happy to help address it.
Are Your Cleaning Products Safe?
Yes. The professional cleaning solutions we use are designed to be safe for people and pets when used properly while still being strong enough to remove soil, oils and contaminants from carpet and upholstery.
How Often Should Carpet Be Professionally Cleaned?
